NEWS PRODUCER, KMSP

Weekdays: produce the 7 AM (1 hour) newscast three days a week. Work with a team of producers to select the biggest news stories of the day, manage 2-3 live reporters, manage live guests (in-studio or via Zoom/Skype), produce studio hits for anchors in different newscasts, monitor the wires and social media, write stories, edit scripts, use graphics/video/studio set to tell the news in a creative and engaging way.

Weekends: produce the 7 AM (1 hour) Saturdays. Alternate producing the 7 AM/10 AM (1 hour) and the 9 AM (1 hour) Sundays with another producer. Help determine content, manage an overnight pool photographer to cover any breaking news, monitor police activity, the wires and social media, set up/manage live guests (in-studio or via Zoom/Skype), write stories, edit scripts.

NEWS PRODUCER, WNCN

Main responsibility was the 6 PM and 11 PM weekend news. Produced a variety of different newscasts three times a week where needed (from the 12 PM to the 11 PM), helped determine content, searched for news across the state, monitored social media and the wires, edited scripts, wrote stories, and managed reporters and live shots. Helped produce/booth wall-to-wall coverage during hurricane season and breaking news events. Joined the morning news team in Aug. 2019.

February 2015 - January 2017

NEWS PRODUCER, KULR

10 PM producer until Oct. 2016, when I became the 5 PM producer. Helped manage several reporters and live shots from across the state, determined content, edited scripts, wrote stories, monitored social media and the wires for national and local breaking news and weather, wrote and posted stories to our website and social media sites. During the Rio Olympics, shot, edited, wrote and fronted a package on a local athlete for our Olympics coverage.
