Americans expected to travel more than ever this Independence Day weekend

BILLINGS, Mont. - More Americans are expected to hit the road this Independence Day weekend than ever before.
AAA projects 4th of July travel will be the highest on record with 43 million Americans traveling. That's five million more than Memorial Day.
More than 36 million people are expected to drive to their destinations.While 3.3 million will chose to fly. AAA also reports 3.3 million travelers will use other modes of transportation, including cruises, trains and buses.
AAA MountainWest Spokesperson Ann O'Donnell said, spurred by the lowest gas prices since 2005 this time of year, more Montanans are planning to travel this holiday weekend.
"We are well on our way for 2016 to be a record-breaking year for summertime travel in Montana," O'Donnell said. "This trend is welcome news for the travel industry and a sign that Americans are taking to our nation's highways and skies like never before."
