WHP reminds drivers to be careful after trooper injured
BILLINGS, Mont. - The Wyoming Highway Patrol is reminding drivers to use caution this winter after a trooper was injured in a crash.
WHP Sgt. David Wagener said at around 9 a.m. on Friday, a WHP trooper was in his vehicle at the scene of a crash on Interstate 80. Sgt. Wagener said a tractor-trailer lost control on the icy road and collided with the parked patrol car. The trooper was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
Sgt. Wagener said WHP troopers investigated 321 crashes statewide during the snowstorm that traveled across Wyoming on Thursday and Friday. He said 55 of those crashes involved injury. No fatal crashes were reported during the two days.
WHP wants to remind everyone to slow down and increase following distances during bad weather.
